Solar-Powered Satellite Communication Station

Kieran and his helpers designed and created a mobile solar-powered satellite communication and charging station to be used by their community after a natural disaster. The idea came about after their island of St. Croix went through two category 5 hurricanes two years ago. The island experienced massive destruction and was left with no power for months and limited ability to communicate off island. Kieran wanted to create something that was low cost, would be easily deployed, and would provide free power for phones, computers, fans, lights, and satellite phones. As a result of this working prototype, twenty more units are planned to be constructed by the St. Croix Foundation and the Long Term Recovery Consortium. Those units will be placed all around the island in hopes of helping as many people as possible.
